The 2nd First Book Launch

June 23, 2023 was a day to remember! I celebrated the launch of my 2nd First Book and 7 years of sobriety. It was a special experience; friends that Ive known since 6th grade showed up, friends who traveled hundreds of miles from home, friends who were present while I lived through many of the stories in the book. 

Friends who believed in me way before I believed in myself, high school friends, friends who only know me since I got sober. With every smile flashed memories; memories of excitement I get seeing myself through their eyes. The hugs were different, I could embrace them with confidence and pride that I am doing good things now. 

Each hug squeezed out a bit of self doubt & self loathing. I wish I had a neon sign that flashed "Thank you, for believing in me, tolerating me, supporting me. You are helping me Become the Promise I am Intended to Be"

Did I Live Stream it? Of course I did! DJ Hooty Hoots MC-ed the the thing and a whole bunch of folks joined the Live Stream and shared their well wishes. 

Did I have a videographer & photographer? Of course I did! Lime Light San Antonio hooked it up. They interviewed all that were willing😉 and be warned, them video clips will be aired in the near future. Im contemplating whether I should post them "unseen" I have no idea what they said but I do know one of the asks was to share a story/secret about me.

Did we have an awesome local spot with great music, service, and food? Of course! All of my peeps and I chilled at Dos Sirenos Brewing, Owned and operated by Mike & Kari Sireno. Next time youre in San Antonio swing by, and save room for their ultra evil banana pudding cheese cake.

So What? well Im building a new and uncomfortable habit. The habit of celebrating. All my people were happy to lend a hand, sacrifice part of their day, buy a copy of the book in celebration of me. Which I normally would have rejected, but Im embracing it. 

Celebrating with you is just a continuation of Demonstrating the Behaviors I seek. So get uncomfortable and celebrate something with the world as you walk the path of Becoming the Promise You are Intended to Be
